After months of swirling rumors, Teyana Taylor and Aaron Pierre have officially confirmed their romance. A video that recently surfaced on social media captures an intimate moment of the couple sharing a kiss as Taylor surprised Pierre with a party for his 31st birthday. Read more inside.
The “Gonna Love Me” singer’s affectionate gesture came just days after she took to Instagram to post a flirty birthday tribute to Pierre, affectionately nicknamed “Woody.” “Cheers to Thirty-WON & many more wins around the sun. 🌹 HAPPY BIRTHDAY Woody 🎈,” she wrote, accompanying the message with two cozy snapshots of the pair.
The first photo shows Taylor, 34, blowing a kiss while Pierre smiles warmly with his head tilted close to her shoulder. The second image captures a tender moment on set with Pierre, star of the film, Mufasa, gazing deeply into Taylor’s eyes as he stands between her legs.
Pierre responded to the heartfelt post in the comments, writing, “Now and always. Thank you Tey 🌹.” The sweet exchange drew praise from celebrity friends, including Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union, Andra Day and Kandi Burruss, who all shared their excitement and support.

Taylor and Pierre’s relationship first sparked speculation after they were seen together at the American Black Film Festival Honors in February. By March, Taylor appeared to confirm their connection when she posted intimate photos of them at the 2025 Oscars with the caption, “Oscar night in black & white, no grey area. 🤍.”
Further fueling the rumors, Pierre shared a shirtless photo on his Instagram Story, to which Taylor replied with a playful message, “on di wey,” accompanied by an exhaling emoji.
Taylor’s new romance comes nearly a year after she finalized her divorce from former NBA star Iman Shumpert in July 2024. The ex-couple, who were married for seven years, share two daughters: Junie, 9, and Rue, 4.
Last week, Taylor also dropped the sultry music video for her single “Long Time,” which features a cameo appearance by Pierre, marking another public moment for the couple.
